Northport Community Orchestra
Northport Chorale 25th Anniversary Dinner
Responding to the wealth of musical talent in the Northport area and the need for a local orchestra to display said talent, the Northport Chorale has undertaken the task of founding a Community Orchestra.
Rehearsals began in January of 2007 for a performance in the Northport High School Auditorium
on May 11th, 2007. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at the High School from 7 PM to 8 PM.

This year, 2007, Mr Hyman was recognized by the New York
City Department of Education as Queens Music Teacher of the Year, receiving
over $30,000 for the Francis Lewis High School Music Department.
Congratulations, Mr Hyman!
Mr. Hyman is presently Music Director of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Huntington, L.I. and Director of Honors Orchestra and Choirs at Francis Lewis High School in Queens, NY. Mr. Hyman holds an MA in orchestral conducting from Columbia University, and he has conducted symphonic works as well as pieces for combined chorus and orchestra, including our recent series of performances of Mozart's Requiem.
Mr. Hyman has composed, performed and conducted music for film, television, and live performance. He has been an annual recipient of the ASCAP Special Award for composer members since 1998.
